VSUES specialists implement modern information technologies in the process of education and university management. The University has a great experience in applying advanced technologies providing students with access to digital training materials on the basis of information networks, SUBD, Internet and modern multimedia equipment. Several systems were created at University: “AVANTA” information training environment (web site http://avanta.vvsu.ru), portal of digital training materials  (www.abc.vvsu.ru), cadastre department of Russian Federation Ministry of Education (http://drkb.vvsu.ru), “Primorsky Region Science and Education” National Information System. These resources are actively used for education and research.

Network infrastructure, created by VSUES along with University of California (USA) in the range of NATO “PARTNET — Regional Network of Academic and Research Community in Primorsky Region” grant, is unique one for the education sphere of the entire Russian Far East. That grant gave University the opportunity to establish regional telecommunication infrastructure on the territory of Russian Far East Pacific zone with access to the Russian education environment as well as network of USA Universities. Along with the establishing transport network RBNet segment in Primorsky Region, this infrastructure will provide us with equal access to educational institutions through the network in the cities of Primorsky Region, offering telecommunication resources and Internet services. This net infrastructure is used to provide VSUES branches and representation offices with access to Internet as well as to carry out operative data exchange.

There is a Center of Information Technologies created on the basis of VSUES that implements large-scale projects connected with the development of the Far East using advanced technologies of IBM, Intel, SUN, Cisco, and Oracle. The determining factor in today’s understanding of information technologies in education is using Internet as a technological base of the access to digital training resources and knowledge.  VSUES Center of Information Technologies developed and implemented “AVANTA” integrated educational system in the process of education in order to support modern academic process using Internet technologies.
